Mizan ATVET at a Glance

Mizan ATVET college is a college that gives a formal vocational educational training to turn farmers and other actors in the agriculture and food system into skilled entrepreneurs who run their farms businesses as economic and productive sustainable enterprises.

It was established in 2002 following governments’ decision to promote national technical vocational education and training. The college is found in Bench-Sheko Zone, Southwest Ethiopia 585 km away from Addis Ababa.

Beginning with an enrollment capacity of 495 in 2002, Mizan Agricultural TVET now has 7615 students (5851 regular and 1764 extension) and 481 staff (96 academic and 385 administrative). Over 7615 students have graduated from Mizan ATVET College since its establishment.

The college is led by a dean and three vice deans. In moment, the college has three vice deans (Academic vice dean, Technology multiplication and transfer vice dean and Administrative and student affairs vice dean.); three departments (Animal Science, Natural Resources Management and Plant Science), one registrar office, three coordination offices (Extension, Fundraising and Research & Technology) and twelve directorates.
