Technology Multiplication and Transfer
Overview
The outcome-based education and training strategy which was framed to ascertain the success of the sectors through the production of capable manpower for the industry and facilitate the transition from agriculture led to industry led economy is being implemented. It is expected to supply the best productive and service technologies which enhance the competitiveness of micro and small enterprises which are the bases of industrial development. The major missions of the strategy are to make technical and vocational education and training institutions the power source to produce a workforce whose competences have been certified through competence assessment and generate best technologies which are proved to be effective through prototype tests.
The government is working with special attention towards the growth supply of productive Agri-industry, manufacturing or service process technologies with the belief that TVET institutions are essential for sustaining and further improving the accelerated growth of the economy. The country is expected to take a revolutionary economic transformation in order to get out of the long-standing poverty vicious circle.
Based on the attention given by the government for developing the technological capacity of the country, Agricultural technical vocational education and training colleges have one of the major missions of the Industrial Extension and Technological Transfer to supply the world of work with citizens who are organized in MSE (enterprise operators) and who participate in development activities with best technologies and enhance competitiveness. And which are entrusted with the mission of managing the technology transfer system with ownership so as to make sectors effective and competitive in the technology transfer process.
Agricultural TVET Colleges are one of the strategies to bring about a fast-growing economy by copying, forging and transferring technologies which were used by industrially developed counters. This process would ensure the competitiveness of MSEs of the sector through building technological capacity for import substitution which lays the ground for the subsequent phase of innovating and creating new technologies.
The Technology adoption, multiplication and Transfer department has been developed as the second key sector of the college wing as center of technology generation since its inception in 2014, Mizan ATVET College has been committed to adoption, multiplication and Transfer sound technology as well as developing cutting-edge research to enhance the lives of our local, national, and international communities.
It is an exciting time indeed to be a part of the research, community service and technology transfer activities here at Mizan ATVET College, and those of us at Mizan ATVET College who engage in research, community service and technology transfer activities are proud to be associated with the exemplary projects we serve.
Mizan ATVET College is one of the Agricultural Technical and Vocational colleges in Ethiopia focusing on research, community service and technology transfer activities on thematic areas of Agriculture, Food Security, Energy, Agri-Tech, and training quality. Mizan ATVET College has a vision of becoming a technology-based center of excellence in agriculture (Coffee, Tea, and Spices production and processing). To achieve this, we have prepared the ten-Year Strategic Plan (2021-2031) in a way that contributes to the growth and development of the nation through applied research.
